Privacy Statement

This statement explains which personal data BeamBerry collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible for your data

BeamBerry is a commercial name of de-pauw BV, based in Belgium. We are the controller of the personal data described in this statement.

2. What data we collect and why

  • Orders: name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, order details and the design details you give us (text, colours, sizes, uploaded artwork). We use this to make, ship and invoice your order. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligations.
  • Payments: payments are handled by Mollie. We never see or store your full card or bank details. We only receive the payment status.
  • Contact and support: if you email us or use a contact form, we use your name, email address and message to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you, or steps before a contract.
  • Account: if you create an account, we store your login details and order history so you can follow your orders. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • Website security and statistics: we use technical logs and security tools to protect the site, and, only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security, and your consent for analytics.

3. Who we share data with

We only share data when it is needed to run the shop. This can include: Mollie (payments), bpost or another carrier (delivery), our accountant and invoicing tools, our website hosting and email providers, and Google (Search Console, and Analytics if you consent). These parties process data on our behalf or under their own responsibility, and some may be located outside the European Economic Area. In that case we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as EU standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data.

4. Cookies

We use three kinds of cookies:

  • Necessary cookies: needed for the shopping cart, checkout, login and site security. These are always active and do not need consent.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics cookies that measure visits in an aggregated way. These are only placed if you accept them in the cookie banner.
  • Marketing cookies: we do not use advertising or tracking cookies at this time.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings link at the bottom of the site, or by deleting the cookies in your browser.

5. How long we keep your data

Order and invoice data is kept for 7 years, as required by Belgian accounting law. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and are then deleted. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account, unless we must keep it by law. Analytics data is kept for a maximum of 14 months.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, email contact@beamberry.be. We answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

7. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You can also file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
